The reality of the situation shocked the family to their core like a punch to the gut, but after much deliberating they felt it best to take control of their lives for themselves. Ultimately, it was decided to venture into the wasteland and see how the world had changed. Dom began to travel to locations he once knew to see if they still remained. Not far from his home, Dom came across an old Nuka~Cola Quantum delivery truck that had possible been the one to stocked his vault. After some time, he got it running and had converted the truck into a home away from home mobile camp with all the workshop and home necessities which would facilitate him and the family during their travel needs.
Eventually, Dom even managed to build his own eye-bot out of a damaged one he'd come across with random spare parts like a video recorder, microphone, terminal screen to be used as a teleprompter, and other misc junk collected during his travels. The eye-bot became a type recording device which he designated the name Eye-Bot Video-Holotape Recorder or EB-VHR and just VHR for short.
Dom soon found a new purpose in traveling the Capital Wasteland and eventually started documenting and mapping his findings into holotapes. This purpose was then further reinforced after having experienced so many dangers across the wasteland. He wanted to help other wasteland wanderers by building a collection of historical information, maps and current events that he soon would call the Capital Wasteland Travel Guide. Should the Quantums ever want to, they could always return to the safety of their vault and just flip the lever once more, but for now, it would serve as their home where they can come and go as they please without the influence of Vault-Tec's experiment. The Capital Wasteland Travel Guide would eventually grow to be the largest compilation of maps and information known across the wasteland.
